MOSCOW TO ST. PETERSBURG | 13 DAYS  (or ST. PETERSBURG to MOSCOW)

Day 1: Moscow 
Arrive at Moscow Airport, where you will be transferred to the ship.

Day 2: Moscow 
FEATURED EXCURSIONS: Moscow city tour, tour of the metro, and Arbat Street
Your panoramic city tour includes the most remarkable city sights, such as Red Square, St. Basil’s Cathedral, Novodevichy (New Maiden) Convent, and impressive Tverskaya Street. Following lunch downtown, take a tour of Moscow’s famous metro system, which boasts palatial décor, before visiting Arbat Street, longtime hangout for intellectuals and dissidents. Enjoy some free time on your own; shuttle–bus service will be provided between the ship and city center. In the evening, enjoy a Captain’s Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner.

Day 3: Moscow 
FEATURED EXCURSION: Kremlin and Armory Museum visit
Visit the Kremlin, a self-contained 15th-century city with palaces, armories, 15th- and 17th-century cathedrals, and a medieval fortress. You’ll also explore the Kremlin’s Armory Museum—home to many treasures, ranging from the czars’ coronation robes to the famous Fabergé eggs. Shuttle-bus service will be provided between the ship and the city center.

Day 4: Moscow 
Enjoy an entire day at your leisure, perhaps returning to the sights that caught your eye on your panoramic tour. Shuttle-bus service will be provided between the ship and the city center.

Day 5: Cruising the Moscow Canal and Volga River, Uglich 
FEATURED EXCURSION: Uglich walking tour with Church of St. Dmitry on the Blood
Cruise the Moscow Canal before arriving in Uglich. Visit the Church of St. Dmitry on the Blood, built to honor the slain son of Ivan the Terrible, and spend some free time browsing the local markets.

Day 6: Yaroslavl, cruising Lake Rybinsk 
FEATURED EXCURSION: Yaroslavl city tour
Yaroslavl, the “Heart of the Golden Ring,” is considered one of Russia’s most beautiful cities. You’ll visit the town’s exquisite Church of Elijah the Prophet and delight in a tasting of the local produce at the farmers’ market.

Day 7: Goritsy (Kirillov), cruising Lake Onega 
FEATURED EXCURSION: Intimate look at daily life in a Russian province
Gain a unique perspective on everyday life in this part of the world. Watch school children perform dances or sketches for you at the House of Children’s Arts and Crafts, or stop by the Wood Restoration Center to see demonstrations of traditional woodworking methods. Then stroll the grounds of 14th-century St. Cyril of the White Lake Monastery.

Day 8: Kizhi Island, cruising Lake Onega
FEATURED EXCURSION: Open-air Museum of Wooden Architecture
Sail to Kizhi Island, whose famous open-air museum is a UNESCO World Heritage Site containing the awe-inspiring Transfiguration Church, which was constructed entirely of wood without the use of a single nail.

Day 9: Cruising the Svir River, Mandrogi, cruising Lake Ladoga 
FEATURED EXCURSION: Mandrogi “Village Day” walking tour with shashlik picnic lunch ashore
Visit the reconstructed 18th-century village of Mandrogi, home to craftspeople who bring Russia’s past vibrantly to life, and cap off the afternoon with a traditional shashlik picnic.

Day 10: St. Petersburg 
FEATURED EXCURSIONS: St. Petersburg city tour with canal cruise and Hermitage Theatre ballet performance
Enjoy both a panoramic city tour and a walking tour of enchanting St. Petersburg, taking in all of the majestic sights, such as Nevsky Prospect, the Winter Palace and Palace Square, the Church of the Resurrection, and St. Issac’s, followed by a cruise along the city’s luminous canals. During the evening, be treated to a spectacular Russian ballet at the Hermitage Theatre.

Day 11: St. Petersburg 
FEATURED EXCURSION: Catherine Palace and Park in Pushkin
Travel to nearby Pushkin to visit lavish Catherine Palace and Park, a masterpiece of Russian rococo architecture, unrivaled in luxury and scale.

Day 12: St. Petersburg 
FEATURED EXCURSION: Hermitage Museum
The world-famous Hermitage Museum features nearly three million works of art by masters such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. Today you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy these masterpieces. In the evening, enjoy a Captain’s, Farewell Reception and Gala Dinner.

Day 13: Depart St. Petersburg
Disembark the ship and transfer to St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport for your flight home, or extend your stay with a visit to the Baltic capitals.
